BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 9. The 74th International Astronautical Congress was held in Baku in partnership with the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos) and the International Astronautical Federation, Trend reports.
According to the information, the event was attended by representatives of space agencies, public sector, investors and private companies, local and international media, as well as more than 5000 representatives from 101 countries. At the International Astronautical Congress, 150 companies were represented in the exhibition hall.
Scientists and researchers from 95 countries presented 3,532 scientific articles. Azerbaijan also presented a record number of 214 scientific articles.
The following agreements were reached within the framework of the International Astronautical Congress.
Azercosmos and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) signed a cooperation agreement on the development of new observation satellites for Azerbaijan. As a result, the Azersky-2 satellite will be manufactured in Azerbaijan. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) plans to cooperate with Azerbaijan within the framework of the Artemis international space program. Azercosmos and the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) signed a memorandum of understanding on the exchange of knowledge and experience between organizations and scientific communities in the field of space technologies.
In addition, Azerbaijan discussed the development of cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence with the World Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
It was also reported that "Azercell Telecom", the first operator to install mobile infrastructure in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, after the successful launch of base stations in Aghdere and Khojaly, extended its network to Khankendi.
In addition, Aztelecom provided Khankendi and Khojaly with backbone Internet lines and broadband access.
Also, Aztelecom is putting into operation basic internet infrastructure to increase communication and digital opportunities in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from Armenian occupation.
This week it was reported that Bakcell has successfully commissioned its network in Khankendi.
Moreover, Nar has expanded its mobile network in Karabakh, covering Khankendi, Khojavand, Khojaly, Aghdere, Askeran, thus contributing to the development of infrastructure in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
