BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. A cooperation agreement was signed between Azercosmos and Bayanat Company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Trend reports.

According to the information, the parties will cooperate in the field of geographic information systems (GIS). This includes the promotion of potential projects and opportunities for obtaining, processing, and applying remote sensing data, geospatial data capabilities, and the exchange of experience and knowledge.

In addition, Azercosmos will be able to utilize the geospatial information platform owned by Bayanat for one year.

Within the framework of the cooperation, it is also planned to expand the use of Earth observation solutions in mapping and oil and gas research.

It was also reported that the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance under the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan has fully transferred its information systems to the "Government Cloud".

According to the plan of transition to the "government cloud,", work on the complete migration of the agency's information systems to the data center owned by AzInTelecom has been completed.

The information systems of the agency were gradually transferred to the "government cloud,", and in some cases, the infrastructure for new information systems was created directly in the "government cloud.".

In addition to adhering to the principles of corporate social responsibility and being a member of the UN Global Compact, "Nar" took part in the event "Uniting Business Europe 2023" (UBE).

The UBE 2023 event, organized by the UN Global Compact and the UN Global Compact Georgia Network, reportedly brought together stakeholders to assess progress, identify challenges, and advance actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Also, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have great prospects for cooperation in the space sector.

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have similar interests and directions, as well as significant prospects for joint cooperation in the space industry.

"We plan to expand our cooperation further. We have great prospects for creating joint constellations and sharing experience in developing services. We also notice the active development of interesting services in Azerbaijan in the field of Earth remote sensing. This is just the beginning, as there are huge prospects in this direction and the market continues to grow," said Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, Malik Olzhabekov.

He noted that through joint efforts in the development of services and constellations, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan can create services of global importance.

He further added that in addition to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, other countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) can join these important initiatives, which will make it possible to launch major mega-projects benefiting all their participants.

"Good initiatives are being discussed, including the joint creation of industrial capabilities and cooperation in the development of both individual satellite technologies and entire satellites. By coordinating this cooperation, it is possible to diversify approaches, allowing each country to focus on certain components or technologies of the satellite," the vice minister said.
