BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6. Azerbaijan and Huawei discussed future areas of cooperation in such areas as ICT infrastructure projects, new generation 5G technologies, and cloud services, Trend reports.
In addition, the largest company in the online payment market in Azerbaijan, "GoldenPay," told about the realization of new products. Thus, one of the main products that the company has recently released is its own co-branded Hesab Card.
Currently, GoldenPay has issued the Hesab Card with one of its partner banks, but it is planned that after the new legislation comes into force, it will be possible to issue the card independently. In addition, GoldenPay launched a new product, Hesab Shop Marketplace, embedded in the Hesab.az portal.
It was also reported that the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security of Azerbaijan processed 21.7 million e-mail addresses created for state structures in the first quarter of this year. Of these, 19.4 million were transferred to users, and 2.4 million were blocked due to malicious content.
Currently, 30,000 employees of state institutions with 543 domain names use e-mail services provided with special protection means.
Smartphone import volumes to Azerbaijan were named last week. Thus, imports of smartphones to Azerbaijan amounted to 803,920 units from January through August 2023, which is 2 percent more year-on-year. In value terms, imports of these products amounted to $206.2 million (up 26 percent).
The main shipments of smartphones came from China, with 555,770 units (up 22 percent) worth $140.5 million (up 52 percent).
Other major suppliers include Vietnam with 191,570 units ($48.1 million) and India with 55,860 units ($17.2 million).
