Azerbaijan presents documents on case of Maltese Fimbank

Azerbaijan presented the next documents on the case of the Maltese Fimbank to the Rotterdam court. Firmbank filed a suit against Azerbaijani government on non-payment of the loan allegedly granted by the bank under the guarantee of the Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry and its enterprise Pochtbank. The legal hearing was held on 4 January with the participation of Bakhtiyar Mammadov, the head of the Legal Division of the Ministry, Trend reports.

Touching upon the submission of the reply documents by Fimbank, the Ministry noted that it would be determined at the court sentence to be made in early February. The court is probable to give 6 weeks to Fimbank to prepare the documents, as Azerbaijan presented very impressive evidences, the Ministry stressed.

Nevertheless, the trial may delay due to Azerbaijans suit on compensation of moral and material damage. The court can require additional witnesses to make a final sentence.

The Fimbank allocated $3035000 loan for non-existing enterprise of the Ministry Aztell, $1560000 - existing Baktell.
