Azerpocht receives 7 cars within WPU's project

On Monday Azerpocht state enterprise received 7 cars, purchased for use in the postal transportations within the country through UN DP within the project of the World Post Union (WPU). Handing over ceremony was held at the postal transportation center on Monday, Trend reports. Attending the event were Iltimas Mammadov, the deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, Novruz Mammadov, the head of the post division of the Ministry, Gambar Baybalayev, the Director General of Azerpocht, and other representatives of the Ministry.

The project costs around 112,000 euros.

One car will work on the route from the postal transportations center to airport, 2 - Baku-Gazakh-Baku, 2- Baku-Astara-Baku, 2 - Baku-Gusar-Baku. As a result of these measures international postal standard in Baku (D+1) will increase from 80% tРѕ 90%, postal standard on delivery to regions (D+2) - from current 78% tРѕ 85%. Besides, time of delivery on the route Baku-Gazakh-Baku will reduce from 20 hours tРѕ 16 hours.

Similar project was implemented at the postal communications of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (AR) in cooperation with WPU in 2005.
