On July 22, it is planned with the participation of the minister of communications and information technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov and the minister of education Misir Mardanov to discuss the current situation of measures taken in Azerbaijan within creation of the University of Information Technologies, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan.
The discussions will be attended by the representatives of IT University of Sweden (Chalmer). The project of creating IT University in Azerbaijan was prepared in cooperation with the specialists of Chalmer University which is interested in cooperating with Azerbaijan in establishing such an institution.
According to the order of Abbasov dated January 21, 2006, an organizational committee was established for the creation of the university. Co-chairs of the presidium of the committee are the deputy minister of communications Iltimas Mammadov and deputy education minister Elmar Gasimov.
