Azeri Communications Ministry carries out measures to organize UTS in country

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan carries out measures to organize universal telecommunicational services (UTS) in the country, Trend reports with reference to the same ministry. At the moment, the preliminary expenses were defined, which are required for these works, and the list of the villages where UTS will be organized was prepared.

Besides, an appeal was forwarded to the Cabinet of Ministers for providing financial assistance to the realization of the project, the same source told.

According to the article 31 of law of Azerbaijan Republic On telecommunications,

UTS is compulsory for the operators and providers in providing qualitative telecommunicational services in the period and prices available for all territories of the country. The classification, organization, quality, period and other requirements of UTS are defined by the relevant bodies of the Executive Power (EP), taking into consideration the following principles at least one paystation (or a telephone for the public use) should be installed in each village for the free contact with fair service, police, urgent medical service, emergency service and other qualified services of urgent help defined in the legislation. The UTS will be realized by the operator and provider selected on base of competition, and in case of non-conducting of the competition, it will be provided by the telecommunicational operator according to the contract.
