Jahangir Hajiyev, the chairman of the management board of the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) told Trend that IBA will attract a British company to its daughter company Azerileasing.
Some 50% is expected to given to the British company. The IBA is not going to leave Azerileasing, he underlined.
Azerileasing was founded in 2000 with the participation of a Turkish partner Guarantee Leasing, the International Guarantee Agency MIGA/IFC and International Finance (a member of the IFC) and the IBA. 50%-stake in the JV was to be given to Guarantee Leasing taking into consideration its 15-year experience, while MIGA/IFC - 10%. However, later Guarantee Leasing refused from the participation the JV, whilst MIGA/IFC refused to repay its stake in the statutory capital.
Talks were held with Foreign Economic Bank of Russia, Israeli credit organization Dower Tower, Austrian Reiffeisen bank.
