Azerbaijan Expects Terms and Tariffs from Kazakhstan for Use of KazSat Satellite

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies stated that Azerbaijan does not feel great demand for the use of Kazakhstan's Satellite KazSat, Trend reports.

So far, no concrete decision has been taken in connection with Kazakhstan's proposal on use of РљР°zSat satellite. The proposal was submitted by Kazakh government. В"Azerbaijan has sent a letter for more detailed information, including the basic terms and fees.

At present Azerbaijan has its own resources and there is no acute need for the use if the Kazakhstan's satellite, the same source added.

At present Azerbaijan uses the Turkish and European satellites.

A contract on the fabrication and launching the first geo-station satellite of Kazakhstan the Khrunich was signed in January 2004. Over 15 foreign and Russian companies, including the world leading producers of on-board telecommunications equipment, participated in its fabrication.

Earlier it was reported that the first Kazakhstan's telecommunication satellite was launched up to the orbit on June 18, 2006 from the cosmodrome Baykonour by a Russian missile carrier Proton.

The zone of reliable admission of signals covers Central Asia, Caucasus, Central part of Russia, including the Moscow Region.
