Ali Abbasov, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Telecommunications, exclusively informed Trend that Launching of an Azerbaijani satellite into the space is not an easy task and in this respect it is necessary to have an orbital position.
Azerbaijan has appealed to the International Union of Electric Communications for hosting the satellite and the issue will be discussed at the international conference of radio communications in 2007. Along with the telecommunications companies, the sate bodies will also use the satellites. This is an issue of state importance and the project is considered from the legal, technical and economic view-points, he said.
Azerbaijan currently uses the services of many regional satellite organizations, including Д°ntelsat, Eutelsat, and Turksat. As per the proposal from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan could use KazSat if it turns out to be reasonable in the technical and economic aspects.
