Azercell Carrying Out Works on Network Improvement

Azerbaijan mobile provider Azercell Telecom JSC is carrying out works on improving its network. Trend reports referring to a message spread by the Company that on Monday, starting from 00:00 p.m. December 26, at night time and in the morning, some technical shortcomings and difficulties during the subscriber incoming and outgoing calls will occur.

The Company periodically holds corresponding work to improve the quality of the communication.

Today, the number of Azercell subscribers reaches 2.3 mln. people. In the beginning of the activity of the Company (1997), the number of its subscribers was 10,000 people.

Currently the Company covers 78,4% of the territory and 98,8% of the population of Azerbaijan with its mobile communication network.

The number of the base stations installed in the country has exceeded 1,000.

At the same time, Azercell has had roaming agreements with 308 mobile operators from 135 countries.

Azercell Telecom JSC was created on January 19, 1996 by Turkcell Д°letiЕџim Hizmetleri A.S and Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies.

Azercell Telecom began its activities on December 15, 1996 offering mobile communication services to its subscribers. In 1998, the Company introduced pre-payment system- tariff plan SimSim.
