TeliaSonera Announces Financial Indicators for Second Quarter

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Babayeva / In the second quarter, net sales of the telecommunication company TeliaSonera increased 5.1 percent to SEK 23,901 million (22,737), the Company reports. EBITDA, excluding non-recurring items, totaled SEK 7,516 million (7,928) and the margin was 31.4 percent (34.9).

Operating income, excluding non-recurring items, increased to SEK 6,575 mil-lion (6,316).

Free cash flow was SEK 3,558 million (4,018). The number of subscriptions increased during the quarter to 103.4 million, with 1.2 million new subscriptions in the majority-owned operations and 2.0 million new subscriptions in the associated companies.

TeliaSonera is the result of a 2002 merger between the Swedish and Finnish telecommunications companies, Telia and Sonera.

TeliaSonera AB is the dominant telephone company and mobile network operator in Sweden and Finland, and is also active in other countries in Northern and Eastern Europe . The Company is a shareholder of Azerbaijan's mobile operator Azercell Telecom through Fintur Holdings BV, with 58.55% of Fintur's share belonging to TeliaSonera. The Company functions in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan (K'Cell), Georgia (Geocell) and Moldova (Moldcell), as well as possesses GSM-license in Ukraine.
