The measures are being carried out for the sustainable development of tourism infrastructure and types of tourism within the existing administrative and territorial units of Azerbaijan, the rational use of tourism resources, the extension of the tourist season in the country’s districts and effective local governance, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism said in a message March 5.
According to the message, in this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution "On the Establishment of the Khizi-Khachmaz, Guba, Gusar Tourist and Recreational Zones" dated August 1, 2016 upon the proposal of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which was agreed with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Justice and the State Committee on Property Issues.
According to this resolution, Khizi-Khachmaz tourist and recreational zone was created in the administrative territories of the Khizi district (7,969.22 hectares), Siyazan district (14,365.44 hectares), Shabran district (25,833.78 hectares), Khachmaz district (33,832.40 hectares).
The Guba tourist and recreational zone was created in the administrative territories of the Guba district (3,729.43 hectares).
The Gusar tourist and recreational zone was created in the administrative territories of the Gusar district (14,546.55 hectares).
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism prepared the "Action plan for the Khizi-Khachmaz, Guba, Gusar tourist and recreational zones for 2017-2018", which was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers May 4, 2017.
An investment promotion mechanism was created upon the Azerbaijani president’s decree to improve the business sphere, support the creation of new enterprises and increase industrial production.
The document on investment promotion is the main document that allows receiving benefits envisaged in the Tax Code and the Law on Customs Tariff.
The agreements were signed with the companies which won the tender in connection with the preparation of the general plans for the development of the Guba, Gusar and Khizi-Khachmaz tourist and recreational zones in accordance with the amount of budgetary funds allocated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for 2017.
