A presentation of the “Along the Great Silk Road. Pearls of Uzbekistan” project took place in Almaty, Kazakh news agency Kazinform reported on April 28.

The event is dated to the Unity Day of Kazakhstan and the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan, the state tourism committee said.

The project narrates the ancient Great Silk Road routes, cultural heritage of Uzbek cities, namely, Tashkent, Samarqand and Bukhara and the present-day development of the country's tourism sector.

The film crew organized an auto travel tour around the cities of Uzbekistan last summer and released a documentary.

It presented to the Almaty audience a documentary and a mobile photo exhibition.

“From ancient times to the present day, regardless of any obstacles, famine and wars, relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are formed under the sign of friendship and mutual respect. The Great Silk Road united our countries, promoted the prosperity of culture, science, crafts. Heritage is our spiritual treasury. The main goal of the project is to promote friendship, motivate people to travel and get acquainted with the historical heritage of our countries,” said Kalymash Begalinova, a scientific consultant of the television project.

It is planned that after the opening night the documentary will be presented for broadcasting to Kazakhstani TV channels and Internet media.
