Over 18,000 tourists from Uzbekistan visited Turkey in September

In September 2018, Turkey was visited by 18,879 tourists from Uzbekistan, which is 9.24 percent less compared to the same period in 2017, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey told Trend Nov. 5.

The ministry noted that the share of Uzbek citizens of the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey in September 2018 has amounted to 0.39 percent.

For comparison, in September 2017, this figure was 0.42 percent.

According to the data of the ministry, 197,381 tourists from Uzbekistan have visited Turkey in January-September of this year, which is 39.06 percent more than the figures for the same period of 2017.

The share of Uzbek citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey in January-September 2018 has amounted to 0.62 percent.

In September 2018, Turkey was visited in general by 5,425,845 tourists, which is 15.64 percent higher than the figure for the same month in 2017.

In September 2018, 589,754 tourists from Germany, 317,748 tourists from the UK, 308,066 tourists from Bulgaria and 195,850 tourists from Georgia visited Turkey.

During this period, 1,899,103 tourists visited the Turkish province of Antalya, which accounted for 39.62 percent of total number of tourists.

In September 2018, 1 235 301 tourists visited Istanbul, which accounted for 25.77 percent of total number of tourists.

Following the results of January-September 2018, the number of tourists visiting Turkey amounted to 31,815,952, which is 22.08 percent more compared to the same period in 2017.
