Azerbaijan is carrying out reforms in tourism education, head of the Public Relations Department of the State Tourism Agency Kanan Guluzade told Trend.
Guluzade noted that active work in tourism education is mainly carried out in the country's universities.
"We work with students of the Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management, which implies a change in thinking of a philosophical approach to education in this field, and at the same time building healthy and full-fledged relations between teachers and students," Guluzade said.
He noted that attracting private sector investments to tourism education is being considered in Azerbaijan.
"A comprehensive marketing work is carried out in 18 priority markets to attract tourists to Azerbaijan. The task is to achieve maximum transparency in the tourism sector. This is especially important given the serious interest of the private sector in the development of the tourism industry," Guluzade said.
He also noted that reforms in tourism are aimed at improving the level of the tourism industry, in particular, at holding shopping festivals, tourism fairs, as well as developing rural and ecological tourism in the country.
