In April 2019, over 647,700 people visited Georgia, which is 4.6 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Georgian National Tourism Administration.
Over 348,000 of them were tourist visits, which is 4.2 percent more than in the same period of 2018.
The highest influx of tourists is from countries such as Uzbekistan (+125.7 percent), Thailand (+97.5 percent), Kazakhstan (+89.1 percent), Turkmenistan (+52.1 percent), China (+30.6 percent) and United Arab Emirates (+26.3 percent).
The influx of tourists is also observed from the EU countries, namely Austria (+50.8 percent), Italy (+45.6 percent), Spain (43.8 percent), France (+43.7 percent), Germany (+43.5 percent) and Czech Republic (+38.2 percent).
During the period of January-April 2019, over two million visits were recorded in Georgia. Compared to the same period of last year, this amount increased by 2.2 percent. Over half of them were tourist visits, which is 4.8 percent more than in January-April of 2018.
