Number of tourists from EU in Georgia increases by 15%

The number of tourists traveling to Georgia from the EU increased by 15 percent during the last week of July compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports via the research of the TBC research company.

Compared to July 2018, in July 2019, the number of tourists from Germany increased by 67 percent, while the number of tourists from the UK increased by 35 percent, from Poland by 71 percent, and from Spain by 5.9 percent.

According to the research, on average German tourists in Georgia spend 2,046 lari per trip, Polish tourists – 2,183 lari, British tourists – 3,189 lari, Spanish tourists – 2,541 lari.

This figure is almost twice the level of expenses of citizens of neighboring post-Soviet countries - in particular, tourists from Russia spend an average of 1,253 lari per trip.
