In August of 2019, 248,083 people visited Georgia from Azerbaijan, which is a high 16-percent increase from the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
Meanwhile, 252,873 citizens of Russia visited Georgia, which is a 6-percent drop from the same period of 2018.
The number of visitors from Turkey to Georgia (180,933 citizens) also increased (9-percent increase) compared to the same period last year.
From the EU countries, 79,044 citizens visited Georgia, a 23 percent increase over the same period last year.
The number of visitors to Georgia from Ukraine amounted to 33,240 citizens, which is 21 percent more than in August of 2018.
The flow of visitors from Israel increased by 21 percent and amounted to 30,140 citizens.
