The monthly average number of Georgian resident visitors aged 15 years or older equaled to 1.1 million in the third quarter of 2019, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
In the third quarter of 2019, 36.3 percent of visits were carried out by visitors of 31-50 age groups, and 55.6 percent of the visitors were women.
According to Geostat, 35 percent of visitors are the residents of Tbilisi, 15.9 percent - of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region, 10.2 percent – of Adjara, while the rest of the regions are represented by the lower share in the number.
In the third quarter of 2019, the main purpose of majority visits (45.4 percent) was visiting friends and relatives.
The majority of the visits come on Tbilisi (average 270,600 visits per month) and Adjara (238,300 visits per month).
In the third quarter of 2019, the monthly average expenditure during the visits equaled to 235.4 million lari ($82.4 million). This indicator is 22.6 percent higher than the indicator of the relevant period of the previous year.
