Electronic communications need to be developed in the field of Uzbek-Turkish tourism, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said at the VI meeting of the tourism ministers of the Turkic Council in Kokand (Uzbekistan), Trend reports citing the press service of the Turkic Council.

According to the minister, the concept of the Turkic world continues its ancient historical, political, social, cultural, geographical and ethnological dimensions and the presence of a common language, memory and culture with the fraternal countries of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan led to the strengthening of bilateral and regional ties.

“Turkey viewed the Central Asian states as different states of a single nation, and our foreign policy demonstrated a multifaceted and proactive approach in the region. Our relations with Turkic-speaking countries have always been the vision of Turkey, and this point of view has played an important role in world politics over the past 20 years,” he said.

According to the minister, increasing the potential of international tourism and its further development is an urgent task. Mehmet Ersoy also touched upon the pandemic tourism potential of Turkey, noting that the Safe Tourism Program is an important initiative.

The minister also stressed the need to develop electronic communications between governments and the private sector in order to achieve common goals.

He also noted that it is necessary to minimize obstacles to travel and encourage international tourism in a safe environment, adding that each country needs to take reasonable and coordinated measures to overcome the main obstacles to travel.
