BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. The State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan is working on budget programs to attract tourists to the country, the agency’s Deputy Board Chairman Azada Huseynova told Trend.
According to Huseynova, the agency aims to develop permanent rather than seasonal tourism in the country.
"To achieve these goals, we are working to create the appropriate infrastructure, as well as to implement programs and hold international events," she said.
In the context of promoting ski and winter tourism, the agency promotes such tourist centers of Azerbaijan as Shahdagh, Tufandagh and Aghbulagh. So, various events are planned to be held in Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland and Austria to promote Azerbaijani tourism and develop business relations between the travel companies of Azerbaijan and these countries.
Besides, Azerbaijan's potential to host large-scale business events will be showcased at the IBTM exhibition (Global Meeting and Incentives Exhibition) which will be held in Barcelona in November. This year, in order to popularize the tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan, it’s also expected to participate in the World Travel Market exhibition, which is held annually in London.
