BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 4. A total of 1.69 million manat ($994,119) were received from ticket sales for tourist services in Azerbaijan in 2022, Trend reports citing the State Tourism Agency.

According to the agency, 258,279 manat ($151,929) of the total volume were paid as VAT to the state budget.

Overall, 341,253 tickets were sold to nature reserves and museums subordinate to the agency, in 2022. Out of the whole number of visitors, 162,798 were foreigners, while 178,455 of them were local residents, said the agency.

"As many as 44,577 travelers visited nature reserves and museums free of charge (the preferential category includes schoolchildren, the war disabled and veterans, foreign tourists under 12 years old)," they noted.

The State Tourism Agency is currently in charge of the Yanardag State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve, the Historical and Architectural Reserve in the Ateshgah Temple, the Khinalig State Historical, Architectural and Ethnographic Reserve, the Lahij State Historical and Cultural Reserve, the Yukhari Bash State Reserve of History and Architecture, the Kish Historical and Architectural Reserve, the State Historical, Cultural, and Natural Reserve “Beshbarmag Mount”, the Baskal State Historical and Cultural Reserve, and the Diri Baba Mausoleum as part of this reserve.
