BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. A total of 109,300 Azerbaijani citizens visited foreign countries in January of 2023, which is 21.9 percent more compared to January 2022, Trend reports via Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, out of the total number of Azerbaijani citizens, 38.2 percent visited Türkiye, 21.7 percent - Russia, 9 percent - Iran, 10.5 percent - Georgia, and 20.6 percent - other countries.
The number of Azerbaijani citizens visiting Iran increased by 13 percent during the reporting period, Türkiye - by 18.4 percent, Georgia - by 1.6 times, and Russia – by 2.7 percent.
The number of Azerbaijani citizens, traveling abroad in 2022 increased by 1.5 times compared to 2021 and totaled 1.48 million people.
Azerbaijan ranks 76th in 2023 in Henley & Partners company's Passport Index which ranks all the world’s passports.
According to another ranking - Global Passport Power Rank provided by the Canadian Arton Capital consulting company, in 2023 Azerbaijan is 62-nd in the passport power rank.
