BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. A total of 2,300 citizens of Turkmenistan visited Azerbaijan in May this year, Trend reports.
Based on official information, these statistics indicate an increase of over fourfold compared to the same month in the previous year when the number of visitors from Turkmenistan was 551 people.
Additionally, as per the agency's report, Turkmenistan has secured a position in the top 15 countries in terms of the number of visitors to Azerbaijan in May 2023.
In this particular timeframe, Azerbaijan welcomed a total of 190,081 foreign visitors, indicating a significant increase of 38 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, which saw 137,491 visitors.
Meanwhile, the number of citizens from Turkmenistan who visited Azerbaijan last year exceeded 11,188, demonstrating an increase of over fourfold compared to the previous year's figures of 2,738 people.
