Chinese Leon technology Co. Ltd. IT company proposed to implement the smart public transport project in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent, Trend reports citing the press service of the Tashkent administration.
Its discussion took place during a meeting in the metropolitan administration.
A company from China presented a large-scale smart city project, designed for several directions, but for the first stage of work it was proposed to choose one of them - the public transport sector.
The smart public transport project will give passengers the opportunity to electronically pay for fares, use free internet, receive information about the transport route and the optimal route to their destination. It is proposed to turn the city’s roads into Wi-Fi zones, which will be distributed from road lights.
Erkin Iminov, head of the Tashkent administration’s administration, proposed to implement another pilot project with Chinese specialists: the introduction of ICT in the activities of preschool educational institutions.
