Some 3.5 million tons may be loaded and unloaded in Chabahar port of Iran’s south-eastern Sistan-Baluchestan province by the end of this Iranian year (March 21, 2020), Director General of the Ports and Maritime Organization of the province Behruz Agayi said, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization.

“Some 2.4 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in this port last Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 through March 21, 2019),” the director general added.

“Some 3.2 million tons of products may be imported through Chabahar port a year,” he added. “This year, 340,000 tons of essential goods were imported through this port.”

Referring to the plan to increase the volume of cargo at the port, Agayi said that the discounts are envisaged for cargo owners.

"In this regard, there is a 40-percent discount for cargoes which are transported between Chabahar port and the Indian ports," the director general added.

Presently, Indian Ports Global Limited (IPGL) is an operator company of Chabahar port.
