Azerbaijan transported rail freight in the amount of $379.7 million from January through February 2020, which is 16.7 percent lower than in the same period in 2019, Trend reports referring to the State Customs Committee (SCC).
During the reporting period, the volume of rail freight amounted to 878,100 tons, which is 12 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
The volume of export by rail freight increased by 17.45 percent and amounted to 291,350 tons, and in monetary terms - to $81.5 million, showing a decrease of 1.2 percent.
Meanwhile, the volume of import by rail freight amounted to 586,750 tons, and in monetary terms - to $298.2 million, a decrease of 21.8 percent.
In general, Azerbaijan’s trade turnover amounted to $5.04 billion over the reporting period, while the exports amounted to $3.25 billion, and imports - almost $1.78 billion.
