Turkmenistan eyes to co-op with UNCTAD, IRU in field of cargo transportation

Prospects of the development of cooperation of Turkmenistan with United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and International Road Transport Union (IRU) in the field of cargo transportation and customs control were discussed during a videoconference on May 6, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The parties also considered issues related to the introduction of the integrated Automated SYstem for CUstoms DAta (ASYCUDA) customs information system in Turkmenistan and the IRU TIR-Electronic pre-declaration (TIR_EPD) system for early decoding of international cargo.
Possible introduction of electronic documents for the registration of vehicles and cargo imported into Turkmenistan and passing through its territory in transit was also discussed.
At the meeting, the Turkmen side was represented by officials from relevant ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Customs Service and Turkmenavtoellary State Agency.
