A total of 4,867 vehicles were manufactured in Kazakhstan in Apr. 2020, which is 21.9 percent less than in Mar. 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Association of Automobile Business (AKAB).
The report said that Apr. showed the deepest recession in the main sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy. Economic activity dropped to a minimum, and the automobile market faced a halt. The AKAB said that Kazakh car dealers managed to sell slightly over 1,000 vehicles.
AKAB preliminary data shows that the Saryarkaautomprom venture manufactured 2,439 vehicles in Apr. 2020. Azia Auto company produced 123 units of commercial vehicles, SemAz venture manufactured 38 trucks, Hyundai Trans Auto produced 15 units of machinery, Daewoo Bus manufactured two buses.
Overall, a total of 23,703 vehicles worth 173.4 billion tenge ($415.5 million) were manufactured in Kazakhstan over the period from Jan. through Apr. 2020. This includes 20,906 passenger cars (increase by 72.6 percent compared to the same period of 2019), 2,080 trucks (increase by 577 percent), 352 buses (increase by 73.4 percent), 76 other types of specialized vehicles and 289 trailers and semi-trailers.
Vehicles manufacturing volume over the period of first four months of 2020 was 84.6 percent more than during the same period of 2019.
The total number of vehicles registered in Kazakhstan over the period from Jan. through Apr. 2020 amounted to 318,438 vehicles, which is 29.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
As reported, 296,571 vehicles accounted for secondary registration, which is 30.4 percent less compared to the same period last year. The cars which were registered for the first time amounted to 21,867 vehicles, which is 19.7 percent less than in 2019.
The number of vehicles registered in Apr. 2020 amounted to 3,329 vehicles, which is 38.8 times less than in Apr. 2019. As many as 3,055 of them were registered on the secondary market (39.4 times less than in Apr. 2019).
