Government of Uzbekistan will announce a tender for the Tashkent-Andijan toll road construction, Trend reports citing the presidential press service.
The project also envisages construction of an alternative tunnel on Kamchik Pass.
It was discussed at the meeting on issues of sustainable functioning and development of the transport industry, held by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on May 25.
The president noted poor condition of internal roads and people's dissatisfaction with their quality. The sides stressed the need for reconstruction of 80,000 kilometers of internal roads, the message said.
Head of state gave instructions to modernize buses serving internal routes in Karakalpakstan and the regions.
As expected, permitted speed on toll roads will be higher.
