Turkmenistan will introduce mandatory passenger insurance for all types of transport, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenpotal Informational Potal.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Kadyrgali Mussinov presented new draft about the rules of state obligatory insurance of passengers for all means of transport at the recent session of the government.
All terms and requirements are brought in line with the document with the changes and additions that have been made in recent years to the laws of Turkmenistan on insurance, on road and railway transport, the Air Code and the Merchant Shipping Code.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov approved the proposal, noting that such step contributes to the active integration of Turkmenistan insurance system into the international insurance market.
In general, the insurance system in Turkmenistan is improving. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a corresponding decree allowing legal entities to conclude contracts with foreign insurance companies in April, 2020. The decree also aimed to reach a new level of cooperation with traditional and new partners.
