Kazakh FlyArystan suspends flights to regional center of West Kazakhstan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jun. 5

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Kazakhstan’s FlyArystan lowcoster is halting implementation of regular flights to country’s Uralsk city (West Kazakhstan region) starting from Jun. 20, 2020, the company told Trend.

The company said that the halt follows Uralsk International Airport’s refusal to operate FlyArystan flights according to a previously signed agreement. In particular, the air harbor is not ready to receive FlyArystan planes in the evenings and at nights.

“In this regard, FlyArystan was forced to suspend flights to Uralsk, as the company does not have the ability to perform long-haul flights in the daytime,” the company said.

The company added that it is ready to fulfill its obligations to passengers who bought tickets for flights from Jun. 20 till Oct. 25, 2020, which will be carried out by Air Astana.

Thus, starting from Jun. 21, the flights on the Almaty-Uralsk-Almaty route will only be operated by FlyArystan’s parent company Air Astana.

FlyArystan is the first and only low-cost air company of Kazakhstan. The company started selling tickets online in March 2019.

Established in 2001, Air Astana company is one of the largest airline companies in Kazakhstan. Prior to emergency state, Air Astana operated a fleet of 34 aircrafts on over 60 domestic and international routes.
