Cargo handling volume on Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan feeder route revealed

Kazakhstan’s Aktau sea port has handled 1,302 of cargo on the Aktau-Baku-Aktau route in May 2020, Aktau port’s representative told Trend.

The official said that currently the Aktau - Baku (Alat) - Aktau regular feeder container service continues to operate within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).

The feeder freight turnover amounted to 488 TEU in May of 2020, including 202 TEU of export from Aktau and 286 TEU of import to Aktau.

Furthermore, 814 TEU of cargo were transited via the route. Thus, the overall cargo handled on the route amounted to 1,302 TEU in May 2020.

Currently, there are three operating seaports in Kazakhstan: Aktau, Bautino and Kuryk.

Nowadays, Aktau International Commercial Sea Port is a modern multi-purpose terminal that allows the transportation of goods from East to West, from North to South and back 12 months a year and 24 hours a day.

Bautino сargo port is a division of Aktau International Commercial Sea Port, and is located in the village of Bautino (150 km from the city of Aktau), in the waters of the Bautino Bay of Tyubkaragansky Gulf.
