Ukrainian lowcoster may start flying to Uzbekistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24

By Ilkin Seyfaddini - Trend:

Ukrainian SkyUp Airlines lowcoster has applied to Uzbek authorities for the permit to start flights to the country, Trend reports with reference to State Aviation Administration of Ukraine.

As reported, the airline intends to perform flights from Kyiv to Tashkent twice a week from July 1, 2020, for an unlimited period.

Regular flights from Tashkent to Kyiv were suspended in 2015 due to lack of agreements between the two countries' aviation authorities.

Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan issued an order announcing the introduction of the Open Skies regime at all airports of the country on June 17, 2020.

The Open Skies regime will be introduced from August 1, 2020, for a period of two years, with the possibility of further prolongation or change of conditions at the airports in Uzbekistan.
