Uzbekistan to co-op with Latvia in transportation, logistics spheres

Representatives of Uzbekistan and Latvia held an online meeting of the Uzbek-Latvian joint Mixed Commission on International Road Transport, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo News Agency.

The Uzbek delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Davron Dehkanov, and the Latvian delegation was led by Deputy State Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Communications, Uldis Reimanis.

The meeting participants discussed the practical aspects of cooperation between the relevant structures of Uzbekistan and Latvia in the field of transport, logistics and transit.

The two sides confirmed mutual interest in expanding cooperation in transport and logistics, stressing the existing enormous potential for further building mutually advantageous ties and exchanging the accumulated practical experience of uninterrupted cargo transportation.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to establish Uzbek-Latvian Working Group on Cooperation in Transport.

The Mixed Commission on International Road Transport was established in accordance with the provisions of intergovernmental agreement on international road transport of May 23, 1996.
