Uznekistan plans to launch solar power plant with a capacity of 296.4 kW, as well as a charging station for electric cars and electric bikes on the territory of the new building of the Ministry of Innovative Development in Almazar district of Tashkent, Trend reports with reference to the ministry.

The project was discussed during a meeting on August 19, 2020, attended by senior officials of the ministry dedicated to improving the capacity of Almazar district in education, science and innovation.

As was reported earlier, in January 2021, Uzbekneftegaz will build two high-speed charging stations for electric cars in Tashkent using its own funds. The Ministries of Energy and Transport should analyze foreign experience and offer sites for infrastructure facilities for electric cars.

In late June 2020, it became known that the capital's taxi service is expected to introduce electric cars. For this purpose, 500 cars of Chinese manufacturer BAIC have been purchased.

Construction of the plant for assembly of electric cars began in the country's Kokand city: the project cost is $30 million, including $24 million of foreign investment. According to preliminary calculations, the cost of each electric car will be $3,000.
