Car production up in Uzbekistan

From January through August, the production of cars in Uzbekistan has increased by 1.1 times, amounting to 193,180 cars produced, while in the same period last year the volume produced vehicles amounted to 172,748, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee in Uzbekistan.

As follows from the data of the State Committee on Statistics, the pandemic did not prevent the increase in car production.

The domestic auto industry produced the largest number of Cobalt cars – 52,202 (44.9 percent higher than last year), followed by Gentra – 35,150, which amounted to 27.9 percent.

The production of Damas cars also increased by 10.2 percent to 35,322, and the production of Labo cars increased by 5.7 percent to 5,327.

At the same time, Nexia production has been declining since the beginning of the year. If 20,721 cars were produced before March, then from March through August the number decreased to 26,183.

The production of Cobalt cars, on the contrary, has only increased since the beginning of the pandemic. Before March the production stood at a maximum of 6,380 per month, and starting from June through August there were already at least 7,000 cars produced.

To date, the largest number of operating industrial enterprises are located in the cities of Andijan (3,020), Namangan (2,450), Samarkand (1,513), Kokand (1,375), as well as in the following districts of the city of Tashkent: Almazar (2,104), Chilanzar (1,924), Uchtepa (1,847), Yunusabad (1,656 units), Shaikhantakhur (1,372) and Sergeliyskiy (1,334).
