Oil transshipment volumes between ports of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan unveiled

A total of 300,108 tons of cargo was transported between Kazakhstan’s Aktau port and Azerbaijani seaports over first eight months of 2020, Aktau port told Trend.

This volume includes 260,210 tons of cargo exported from Kazakhstan’s Aktau port in direction of Azerbaijani ports, and 39,898 tons of cargo imported back.

Thus, 154,718 tons of the volume accounted for oil transported from Kazakhstan in direction of Azerbaijani ports.

The transportation of grain amounted to 2,600 tons, whereas that of metals amounted to 7,910 tons, both of which were transported from Kazakhstan’s Aktau port in direction of Azerbaijani ports.

Furthermore, during the reporting period 130,812 tons accounted for other types of cargo, which includes 90,914 tons exported from Kazakhstan’s Aktau port, and 39,898 tons imported to Aktau port.

In turn, the volume of container cargo transportation between ports amounted to 130,398 tons, which includes 90,893 tons exported in direction of Azerbaijani ports, and 39,5050 tons delivered from Azerbaijani ports.

Also, ferry cargo volumes amounted to 4,068 tons, the entirety of which was exported from Kazakh Aktau port in direction of Azerbaijani ports.

Currently, there are three operating seaports in Kazakhstan: Aktau, Bautino and Kuryk.

Nowadays, Aktau International Commercial Sea Port is a modern multi-purpose terminal that allows the transportation of goods from East to West, from North to South and back 12 months a year and 24 hours a day.

Bautino сargo port is a division of Aktau International Commercial Sea Port, and is located in the village of Bautino (150 km from the city of Aktau), in the waters of the Bautino Bay of Tyubkaragansky Gulf.

Kuryk Port is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, south of Aktau city. The port has direct access to the railway. The ferry complex of the port is designed for transshipment of goods, including grain, petroleum products, fertilizers and chemicals.
