Georgia deserves a world-class port, said Keld Mosgaard Christensen, CEO of APM Terminals Poti, Trend reports via Georgian media.
"We guarantee that we will have a very high level of the modernized port in the near future," said Christensen.
The port CEO says that under the modernization/expansion project, significant investments will be made in upgrading operating systems and introducing digital technologies in the process, enabling Poti Port to become a world-class port.
"We will invest a large amount of money. The budget for the port expansion project is $250 million at this stage, but the amount may increase," Christensen said.
Meanwhile, in June 2020 the management of APM Terminals Poti in March applied to the Ministry of Economy of Georgia regarding the implementation of a new project on the territory near the port of Poti, as well as the expansion and deepening of the port itself.
