President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was instructed to attract international experts to plan a strategy for the development of the domestic automotive industry, Trend reports referring to the press service of the president.
The President noted the need to increase the production of cars to 62,000 by 4Q2020, to implement cars export for $165 million, as well as to start selling components and spare parts in the external market.
It was also instructed to develop, together with international experts, a strategy for the development of the automotive industry in the country.
In addition, it was outlined that the production of tractors and seeders has halved in the agricultural machinery industry transferred to the management of Uzavtosanoat.
Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan produced 217,770 passenger cars for 9M2020, which is 16.81 percent more compared to the same period in 2019.
Some 59,252 Cobalt vehicles (growth rates compared to the same period in 2019 amounted to 55.7 percent), 52,689 - Nexia (+1 percent), 39,960 - Gentra (+36.4 percent), 39,631 - Damas (+7.6 percent), 19,980 - Spark (+29.9 percent) and 6,259 - Labo (+16.5 percent) were produced in the automotive industry of Uzbekistan for 9M2020.
