Controlled-access highways to be launched in Iran

As many as 600 kilometers length of controlled-access highways will be launched in Iran by the end of next Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 to March 21, 2022), Deputy Minister of Iran's Roads and Urban Development, CEO of Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructure Company Kheirollah Khademi said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

Khademi stressed that there is currently 80 percent progress on these controlled-access highways.

“In total, 2,200 kilometers length of controlled-access highways are under construction in Iran, at present,” the deputy minister added.

The CEO noted that however, the length of controlled-access highways in Iran is 2,400 kilometers.

Furthermore, 7,800 kilometers length of highways are currently under construction in Iran, according to Khademi.

The deputy minister said that 1,860 kilometers length of highways will be launched in various regions of Iran over the next two years.
