Chinese company to fund construction of logistics center in Uzbek region

An Uzbek-Chinese economic forum dedicated to the further expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the implementation of promising investment projects were held in the capital of China.

The event was attended by Deputy Secretary-General of the Euro-Asian Economic Forum Wang Kaiwen, Head of the Pilot Zone of Territorial Trade and Economic Cooperation Liu Jianjun, heads of Shanghe Agricultural International Holding and Xinjiang Jiufang Borun Transport Equipment Co. Ltd. and other representatives of China business community.

Ambassador Bakhtiyor Saidov spoke on behalf of the Uzbek side, who noted that thanks to joint efforts in recent years, China has become not only the first trade partner of Uzbekistan but also turned into the largest market for the export of domestic products.

The representatives of China noted that in recent years there has been a high dynamics of deepening Chinese-Uzbek cooperation in trade, economics, investment, energy, and transport communications.

It was also noted at the meeting that the growing requirements for the quality of fruit and vegetable products are pushing manufacturers to introduce the latest technologies. The creation and development of chains from cultivation, production to delivery of products to the final consumer is also becoming in demand.

Thus, an Agro-industrial complex for growing and primary processing of sweet cherries will be created together with Shanghe Agricultural International Holding. The preliminary plan for the construction of the complex is divided into several phases.

At the first stage of the project, it is planned to invest $18 million. The main goal of the project is to improve the production and quality of local cherries, including the selection and grafting of high-quality tree species, the construction of sorting plants, and small logistics bases.

And the second phase of the project envisages an investment of $389 million in the construction of a large-scale base for planting and primary processing of cherries on an area of 1,500 hectares.

In addition, according to the Cooperation Agreement on a logistics hub project in the Andijan region, the Chinese company Xinjiang Jiufang Bozhun Transport Equipment Company LLC will invest about $80 million in the construction of a logistics center in the Andijan region.

Xinjiang Jiufang Bozhun Transportation Equipment Company is a leading enterprise in the railway equipment service industry in China.

The company has now set up 30 local service stations in China, forming the country's only railway equipment maintenance and repair network covering all railways.
