Revenues from transporting passengers by road increase in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 145.03 billion tenge ($338.07 million) over the first 10 months of 2020, which is 4.6 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport in Oct. 2020 amounted to 17.4 billion tenge ($40.6 million), which is 10.5 percent more than during the same period of 2019.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 2.6 billion tons, which is 7.9 percent less compared to the same period of last year (312.8 million tons in Oct. 2020, down by 4.5 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 129.1 billion ton-kilometers which is 13.8 percent less than during the same period of last year (15.3 billion in Oct. 2020, a decrease of 10.5 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 53.9 billion tenge ($125.7 million) over the reporting period of 2020, which is 39.3 percent less than during the same period of last year. October’s revenue from passenger transportation was 6.1 billion tenge ($14.3 million), which is 33 percent less than in Oct. 2019.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 7.6 billion people, which is 61.1 percent less than during the same period of last year (360.3 million passengers in Oct. 2020, down by 82.5 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 82.9 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease of 61.5 percent. The passenger turnover in Oct. was 4.2 billion (81.2 percent decrease year-on-year).
