UzAuto Motors will increase the production of Chevrolet Nexia 3, Spark and Daewoo Damas car models due to growing demand, Trend reports referring to the press service of the company.
The company said that the cars will be available within 10 days after payment. At the same time, UzAuto Motors did not say how much the production volume will be increased.
Earlier it was reported that over the past nine months of this year, 217,771 vehicles were produced in Uzbekistan. Including Cobalt – 59,252 cars, Nexia T-250 – 52,689, Gentra – 39,960, Damas – 39,631, Spark – 19,980 and Labo – 6,529 cars.
All these models are assembled using small-knot method (CKD). Malibu and Tracker are manufactured using large-scale assembly (SKD), so they were not included in the statistics.
The net profit of UzAuto Motors exceeded 2.65 trillion soums ($256 million) in 2019. The company's net profit amounted to more than 1.17 trillion soums ($113 million) for 3Q2019, but this is almost twice (94 percent) less than the same period last year - 2.28 trillion soums ($220 million).
On October 21, at the meeting chaired by the president it was noted that it was necessary to bring the production of cars to 62,000 units in the 4Q2020, export for $165, and also start selling components and spare parts in the foreign market.
In addition, it was instructed to work out, together with international experts, a strategy for the development of the automotive industry in Uzbekistan.
