The number of cargo handled in the Georgia port of Batumi in the first 10 months of this year increased from 2.3 million to 2.7 million, Trend reports via Georgian media.

Last year, the port's annual income fell by 2.67 million lari ($811,451) to 41.19 million lari ($12.5 million). As for the profit, last year the port's annual profit decreased by 4 times from 5.59 million lari ($1.6 million) to 1.1 million lari ($334,305).

The total annual income of the port was 28.2 million lari ($8.5 million). The largest share in the structure of the cargo turnover of the port of Batumi falls on the transit of dry cargo and oil.

In 2019, the port handled 694,500 tons of dry cargo, 830 tons of ferry cargo, and 0.86 million tons of oil and oil products.

In 2019, 578 ships entered the port.

Meanwhile, the cargo turnover in the ports of Georgia has increased, but there is a decrease in container traffic.

In the largest port of Georgia, Poti, the cargo turnover decreased by 0.8 million tons. In January-September this year, the Poti port handled 5.6 million tons of cargo.

The cargo turnover of the Kulevi and Supsa terminals also increased. Kulevi handled 1.3 million tons of cargo in 9 months, and Supsa - 3.1 million tons of cargo.
