The volume of passenger traffic by all types of transport in Azerbaijan amounted to 1,104,201 people from January through November 2020, which is 40.5 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing a report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, in the reporting period, the volume of passenger transportation by rail slumped by 46.7 percent, compared to the same period of last year, equaling 1.98 million people. The passenger traffic by sea dropped by 2 percent to 19,200 people.
At the same time, passenger transportation by air plunged by 77.9 percent to 553,800 people, and by metro - 65.1 percent less, 74.7 million people.
From January through November 2020, 102.7 million passengers were transported by road, which is 37.2 percent less compared to the same period of last year.
During this period, buses carried passengers less by 37.1 percent, and taxis - by 39.6 percent than a year earlier.
