Kazakhstan reports decrease in revenues from transporting passengers by road

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 162.01 billion tenge ($385.7 million) over the first 11 months of 2020, which is 4.7 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport in Nov. 2020 amounted to 16.9 billion tenge ($40.4 million), which is 6.2 percent more than during the same period of 2019.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 2.9 billion tons, which is 7.6 percent less compared to the same period of last year (312.2 million tons in Nov. 2020, down by 5 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 144.5 billion ton-kilometers which is 13.8 percent less than during the same period of last year (15.4 billion in Nov. 2020, a decrease of 8.1 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 60 billion tenge ($142.8 million) over the reporting period of 2020, which is 38.6 percent less than during the same period of last year. November’s revenue from passenger transportation was 6.08 billion tenge ($14.4 million), which is 31.3 percent less than in Nov. 2019.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 7.9 billion people, which is 63.2 percent less than during the same period of last year (349.1 million passengers in Nov. 2020, down by 83.1 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 87.01 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease of 63.4 percent. The passenger turnover in Nov. was 4.06 billion (81.9 percent decrease year-on-year).
