Tariffs reduced by Russian Railways to be applied to transportation of Uzbek fruits and vegetables

Representatives of the management board of Russian Railways JSC decided to reduce the level of tariffs for freight transportation of ferrous metals, containers, piggyback trailers and fruit and vegetable products, Trend reports referring to the Russian Railways JSC.

According to Russian Railways, starting From January 1 to December 31, 2021, there will be 50 percent discounts on import transportation of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to Russia in refrigerated rolling stock belonging to Uzbekistan Railways JSC and Tajik Railways State Unitary Enterprise.

Earlier the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) found a dangerous quarantine pest in Uzbek products and has banned the import of tomatoes and peppers from the Fergana Valley since November 26.

Later, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) partially lifted the restrictions on the import of tomatoes and peppers from Fergana region of Uzbekistan

After the State Plant Quarantine Inspectorate under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan provided Rosselkhoznadzor with a survey of production sites and analysis of the state of greenhouses in the specified region of the country the decision was made to allow the import of tomatoes and peppers from seven enterprises from the Fergana region of Uzbekistan starting from December 18, 2020.
