Azerbaijan’s export of goods by railway amounted to 2.3 million tons in 2020, which is 0.08 percent more than in 2019, Trend reports on Jan.18 referring to the report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the SCC, the export cargo transportation by railway was carried out in the amount of over $488.6 million, down 31 percent year on year.
In 2020, Azerbaijan carried out cargo transportation by railway in the total amount of almost $2.6 billion, which is 18.8 percent less than in the previous year.
The volume of railway transport during the reporting year made up 7.1 million tons, which is 5.8 percent less than in 2019.
Meanwhile, imports of railway transport in volume terms made up exceeded 4.8 million tons, and in terms of money –$2.1 billion, a decrease of 15.4 percent.
In 2020, Azerbaijan transported products worth almost $24.5 billion, which is 26.5 percent less than in 2019.
